Dr William O’Callahan Surgeon Researcher

Dr William O’Callaghan is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in Elective Hip, Knee and Shoulder surgery. Additionally he is proficient in treating limb trauma patients.

 

Dr O’Callaghan grew up in Brisbane, Queensland and studied both Physiotherapy (BPhty Hons) and post-graduate Medicine (MBBS) at the University of Queensland. He undertook Orthopaedic training within Queensland and completed his specialist training with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2020. Dr O’Callaghan completed the AOA approved postgraduate ORIQL clinical fellowship in 2020.

 

Dr O’Callaghan has a keen research interest and is published across a range of orthopaedic topics. He is very interested in innovation and is currently undertaking research to further advance the practice of orthopaedics. He is actively involved in the training of junior orthopaedic doctors.

 

Dr O’Callaghan currently holds a public position at Cairns Hospital.
