Component alignment is critical for stability, maximising bearing and implant survival following total hip arthroplasty (THA). Imageless Navigation and Image-Derived-Instrumentation (IDI) potentially improve the accuracy of implant placement offering advantage over freehand techniques. To the authors knowledge, this is the first RCT to investigate the precision of assistive technologies in comparison to freehand implantation
